The American Canal is located in El Paso, Texas and transports United States water for use by multiple stakeholders. The canal is broken into three reaches. - American Canal Upper Reach
The Upper Reach of American Canal was recently rebuilt. - American Canal Lower Reach
The Lower Reach of American Canal was awarded for reconstruction on March 22, 2023. - Edinburg Pump Station
The Edinburg (or PeƱitas) Pump Station floodwall and levee work was completed in November 2023. - Sunland Park Levee
The Sunland Park Levee, located in El Paso, TX and Sunland Park, NM, is being reconstructed to meet FEMA requirements. - International Trunkline/International Outfall Interceptor
The International Trunkline and International Outfall Interceptor (IOI) is a is a 9 mile long pipeline carrying transboundary wastewater flows from Nogales, Sonora, Mexico as well as Nogales and Rio Rico, Arizona to the Nogales International Wastewater Treatment Plant (NIWTP). - Nogales Trunkline & IOI Rehabilitation Phases 1-3
IOI and Trunkline work on Phases 1, 2, and 3 was completed in August 2023. - Nogales IOI Rehabilitation Phases 4-5
IOI work on Phases 4 and 5 are under construction.
